Yesterday was the glory day of the chiefs of CPEC centers in Djibouti-ville, Ali-Sabieh, Arta, Dikhil, Obock, and Tadjourah. The main stakeholders had their merits devoted to UNFD headquarters. This was done by handing over certificates of recognition, which they received from the Secretary of State in charge of Social Affairs, the Minister for Women and the Family, and other personalities gathered at the site.
The national week of social action was in full swing yesterday at the headquarters of the National Union of Djiboutian Women (UNFD). The imposing building hosted a ceremony of handing over certificates of recognition to the heads of centers of micro-finance institutions operating in the capital and inland regions.
Under the aegis of the Secretary of State for Social Affairs, Mouna Osman Aden, the event brought together the Minister for Women and the Family, Moumina Houmed Hassan, UNFD Secretary General, Fatouma Moussa Ahmed, the Director General of the Djiboutian Social Development Agency (ADDS), Mahdi Mohamed Djama, senior executives from the respective ranks of the ministerial departments of social affairs and the advancement of women. Without forgetting a good number of members of local associations that were representative of the female clientele of the savings and credit unions (CPEC).
All these beauties paid particular attention to the chiefs of the CPEC centers in Djibouti-ville, Ali-Sabieh, Arta, Dikhil, Obock, and Tadjourah. The two members of the government, senior officials and UNFD activists openly described them as “valiant pioneers” in the development of microfinance at the national level.
Yesterday was their day of glory. The main stakeholders had their merits devoted to UNFD headquarters. This was done by handing over certificates of recognition, which they received from the Secretary of State in charge of Social Affairs, the Minister for Women and the Family, and other personalities assembled on the spot. Moments that the cameras of the national media professionals immortalized under the applause of the audience. Such scenes conveyed a strong signal, that of the firm determination of the government to promote the development of micro-finance under the Djiboutian skies. These images were also loaded with strong symbols. They came to materialize a political commitment of the national authorities to the managers of microfinance institutions. It was, in a way, a promise to perpetuate these so-called solidarity finances. Whether classical or Islamic. The pioneers of CPEC, distinguished yesterday at the headquarters of the UNFD, have taken note of it.
