Time for validation of PREPUD 2 in Djibouti.

The ADDS in collaboration with the commune of Boulaos launched last Thursday, in its premises, a validation workshop of the second phase of the urban poverty reduction program in Djibouti (PREPUD 2). The initiative is part of poverty reduction and the creation of job-creating projects. It brought together local councilors, including the president of the commune of Boulaos, Mohamed Omar Ismaïl, customary notables, and leaders of local associations.

The fight against poverty is one of the priorities of the government that does not skimp on means to root out a large section of the population of the effects of impoverishment. In this sense, the programs follow each other and are not alike. The urban poverty reduction program in Djibouti is one of those initiatives launched by the Djibouti Social Development Agency.

The aim of this bias is to soften the lives of vulnerable populations in poor neighborhoods.

To this end, the ADDS launched last Thursday in its premises in partnership with the municipality of Boulaos, a validation workshop on the financing of projects of associations of District 7 and this in order to strengthen their capacities and improve the living conditions of the populations. This meeting saw the participation of ADDS Acting Director, Dirieh Farah Souldan, Boulaos commune president, Mohamed Omar Ismaïl, local elected officials, customary notables, and representatives of the associative fabric of Quartier 7.

At the end of the workshop, the Acting Director of the ADDS recalled that

For years, the agency has been launching the PREPUD projects for one purpose: to raise the standard of living of the inhabitants of the neighborhoods through the renovation of infrastructures and the implementation of basic social amenities. Community level, and the provision of technical assistance in project management. Our priority is to help the poorest of our fellow citizens, unemployed youth and women’s associations projects,

a souligné en substance M. Dirieh Farah Souldan

In response, the president of the commune of Boulaos thanked the ADDS for the launch of the project PREPUD 2, again in the Quartier 7. A social project that will allow the population of the neighborhood to get out of precariousness. During this meeting, a multitude of microprojects were presented by the associations and the most interesting were selected and should receive funding.
