The Ministry of Social Affairs and Solidarity (MASS) in collaboration with the State Secretariat for Decentralization (SED), organized yesterday morning in the large meeting room of the headquarters of the regional council of the city of Ali Sabieh, a series of activities, including in particular an exhibition of paintings on works produced by the executing agency of the Djiboutian Social Development Agency (ADDS) and two ceremonies for the presentation of certificates, one intended for religious leaders and the other to young people trained in entrepreneurship, as part of the FORJE project.

Taking stock of achievements is one of the activities programmed as part of the national week of social actions by officials of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Solidarity.

At least that is the meaning of the ceremony held yesterday morning in the courtyard of the headquarters of the regional council of the city of Ali Sabieh.

Jointly chaired by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Solidarity, Ifrah Ali Ahmed and that of the State Secretariat for Decentralization, Mohamed Issé Faraj, the event brought together on site, the prefect of Ali Sabieh, Moussa Aden Miganeh, the director general of the population and family directorate, Ahmed Omar Djama, the director general of the Djiboutian Social Development Agency, Mahdi Mohamed Djama, the president of the regional council and his deputy, respectively, Omar Ahmed Wais and Daoud Said Gueldon, the director of operations of the CLE, Chehem Mohamed Abdallah and a representative of the branch of the High Commissioner for Refugees (HCR) Arnaud Ntahompagaze.

Welcomed on their arrival on the spot by the prefectural and regional authorities as well as a crowd made up of customary chiefs, the beneficiaries of the FORJE project, the two secretaries general and their guides were first under the steps of the director general of ADDS , Mahdi Mohamed Djama visited a painting exhibition recounting the achievements of ADDS which is the implementation body of MASS projects.

In the areas of infrastructure, Mahdi Mohamed told distinguished visitors that his institution under the supervision of MASS has installed Ali Addeh, a college, a health center and a community room. The electrification of the village, the construction of official housing and a health center are among the projects carried out in the Holl-Holl locality of the Ali Sabieh region. As for the capital city of this region, the director general of ADDS boasted of having installed the electricity grids and a market.

In terms of supply, ADDS has carried out several projects focusing in particular on education, health, agriculture and the environment.

In one section, ADDS Director General Mahdi Mohamed Djama focused on the entrepreneurship program set up by his institution to promote the employability of Ali Sabieh’s youth. These achievements relate, among other things, to access to basic social services (access to water, electricity, access to health care, promotion of the self-employability of young people and women, socio-economic infrastructure and market facilities) carried out during over the past ten years.

After the cultural events rich in music, the general secretary of MASS, Ifrah Ali Ahmed and the various personalities who have followed one another on the platform, have in turn raised the achievements of this ministry.

Yesterday we visited again the IL JANO district of the city of Ali Sabieh where ADDS carried out a project to install electrical installations.

So many projects aimed at improving the living conditions of the people of the Ali Sabieh region.

At the end of the ceremony, the officials presented the customary leaders of the Ali Sabieh region who participated in sensitizing the population on the implementation of the various projects with certificates of merit and gifts. They also awarded end of training certificates to young beneficiaries of the FORJE employability project.
