Placed under the High Patronage of Her Excellency Mrs. Ouloufa Ismail Abdo, the Solidarity Caravan marked an important milestone in the Tadjourah region. On this occasion, the Minister, accompanied by her staff, inaugurated a food storage facility, thereby strengthening local capacities for solidarity and assistance.
The delegation then proceeded to the prestigious Gadileh Hotel, where a formal ceremony was held in honor of the women beneficiaries of the GEA program in the region. Participants had the opportunity to watch a film showcasing several inspiring stories of beneficiaries who had transformed their lives through the GEA program, as well as income-generating activities implemented for young people with the support of ADDS.
Visibly moved, the Minister praised the courage, determination, and spirit of solidarity demonstrated by the women of Tadjourah. As a token of encouragement, she presented two Bajaj motorcycles to two beneficiaries who had shared their moving stories.
For his part, the Director General of ADDS, Mr. Mahdi Mohamed Djama, reiterated his complete satisfaction with the remarkable progress made by the women of the region, emphasizing the tangible impact of the implemented programs.
The event was attended by numerous influential figures from the region, including the Prefect of Tadjourah, the President of the Regional Council, members of parliament, the Sultan of the region, the Director of the Regional Hospital, as well as several other local authorities and dignitaries.
Furthermore, this leg of the Solidarity Caravan was marked by the formal establishment of Community Management Committees (CGCs). On this occasion, the Minister officially presented the accreditations, thus formalizing the institutional recognition of these organizations and their integration into the local economic fabric.
The remarkable success of these women and young people testifies to the relevance and effectiveness of the policy implemented by ADDS, which has placed sustainable and inclusive social development at the heart of its work. Through close support, capacity building, and assistance to local economic initiatives, the Agency makes a tangible contribution to the empowerment of communities.
