Monday, 03 November 2016 The Secretary of State for Social Affairs Ms Mouna Osman Aden, accompanied by the Director of ADDS, Mahdi Mohamed Djama, the President of the Regional Council of Tadjourah, Hassan Hussein Omar, Prefect of the city Abdoulmalik Mohamed Banoita carried out a field visit to Tadjourah.

Upon her arrival, Mrs. Mouna Osman Aden, Secretary of State for Social Affairs, visited the central aisles of the city of Tadjourah in order to meet the merchants, shops, food vendors supported by the caisses populaires Savings and credits.

Her Excellency Mrs. Mouna Osman Aden wished to welcome, support and encourage those entrepreneurs who have taken full advantage of the CPEC and embellished by their successes the central aisles of the city of Tadjourah.
On the other hand, the Secretary of State for Social Affairs, Her Excellency Mouna Ahmed Osman, continued her visit to the regional council of Tadjourah in order to meet all beneficiaries of the Caisse populaire de sa Tadjourah and finally meet the board of directors to measure the CPEC’s performance in terms of savings volume, credits and investments.
In addition, Her Excellency Ms Mouna Ahmed Osman visited the cell in charge of social affairs at the regional council.

Created in 2011, Les Caisses Populaire d’Épargne et de Crédit are microfinance institutions whose main mission is to offer financial services such as small credits ( “microcredits”) to people who have not Not have access to the formal financial sector (traditional banks), in order to support them in the creation of productive or income-generating activities. The scheme is a success, and more and more beneficiaries want to submit a nomination file to the CPEC.

Microfinance is designed as an accompanying package to integrate financial, economic and social inclusion. The objective of microfinance is to improve the economic inclusion, the needs of the vulnerable strata in order to enable income-generating activities and to favor the development of sectors of activity starting from the opportunities of the country (Fisheries, mines, trade , Crafts, services).

By providing access to financial services, CPECs play an important role in the fight against poverty. Indeed, the income generated by the activities not only allows to develop it, but also contributes to the income of the household, and thus to food security, to the education of the children, to the care of the health care.

On the other hand, under the aegis of the State Secretariat for Social Affairs and in partnership with the other sectoral ministries, ADDS implements programs, projects and sub – projects aimed at improving basic social services in particular : Health, education, drinking water, support for youth and basic sanitation, but also facilitates access to sources of finance, micro-enterprises for vulnerable populations and encourages the participation of Beneficiaries in the development and management of the programs and projects implemented.
