Solidarity Week 2014: The reduction of unemployment through youth employability

As part of the National Week of Solidarity, the Secretary of State for National Solidarity presided yesterday at the headquarters of UNFD an “open day ” dedicated to youth employability . The goal was to influence the reduction of unemployment and especially the number of young people without jobs or training by focusing on learning and crafts as well as entrepreneurship.

“Open Day ” on the employability of young people. That was yesterday at the headquarters of the Women’s Union . Members of the government , parliamentarians and the Mayor of the city and the new President of the Chamber of Commerce of Djibouti participated.

Officials who have succeeded at the forum did not fail to recall that in its roadmap , the Head of State has made the qualification the foundation of job creation in our country.

General Secretary UNFD Hawa Djama Idleh who spoke first said that the promotion and development of youth employability ” requires political will and a strong mobilization of all the forces of the country ” .

” For many of us here , the welfare state remains very much a distant memory. One therefore needs to innovate and develop other tools to promote youth employment.

It behooves us (parents, teachers, leaders, civil society) to instill in our youth entrepreneurship ” said Ms. Hawa Djama Idleh .

In the process, the official said the point of the policy against unemployment started by UNFD . The Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, Badoul Badoul Hassan for his part called on young people to take charge of their destiny more applicable to enhancing youth employability and entrepreneurial culture.

” Today, the government has facilitated access to finance to increase exponentially youth access to employment ” said Hassan Badoul Badoul .

The Minister for Trade, Ahmed Hassan Boulaleh which also intervened did not fail to remember that ” our economy relies increasingly on the expertise and skills as well as access to skills training becomes the key to productivity , competitiveness and employability .”

Adding that ” the qualification of human resources is a development issue , since it is the main factor productivity depends .”

Finally, the Secretary of State for National Solidarity which occurred last said his department worked tirelessly to stimulate creativity and supports other initiatives between entrepreneurship and give an opportunity to many projects initiated by associations work for the public interest.

Associations … The “open day “, organized by the Djibouti Social Development Agency (ADDS ) has aimed to strengthen the capacity of associations.

In a brief speech on the occasion, Ms. Zahra Youssouf Kayad emphasized the importance of associations for socio- economic development .

For Ms. Youssouf Kayad , associations of the country as a partner resource is lagging . ” Today has she said, Djibouti associations do not meet all the role that was assigned to them in this case , the support for the poorest .”

Secretary of State criticized the leaders of associations who do not take their role seriously called them to follow the example of UNFD that since the independence of our country has been fiercely fighting poverty and unemployment plagues that affect women and youth.

Before officially launching this workshop , the Secretary of State for Solidarity called representatives of Djibouti associations to show a bit more commitment to the Djibouti have a better tomorrow.
