Local authorities trained in sanitation

The Djibouti Social Development Agency (ADDS ) closed last Thursday at the Sheraton the work of a workshop on the fourth training module on ” Urban and rural water ” and for regional and municipal representatives.

ADDS has just completed a training seminar on urban and rural water held in partnership with the State Secretariat for National Solidarity .

Powered by a consultant of the Institute FORHOM , namely Yan Dabrowski, these meetings are part of the framework for capacity building of local actors is a major lever in the process of fight against poverty in the regions.

The closing ceremony was attended by senior officials including the Director General of the ADDS , Mr. Mahdi Mohamed Djama , the chairman of the regional council Arta Omar Djama , deputy prefect of the region Dikhil M . Fouad Abubakar and local elected officials.

This fourth training module was very attractive to participants because it allowed regional and local elected officials, as well as decentralized services to appropriate sanitation technology . While this training was too technical , it was a must for teachers of literature know.

As such, during the training period, the Trainees learned the essentials of stormwater management and wastewater, their specifications, methods of intervention , operation and asset management .

In his speech , the Director General of the ADDS recalled as such, ADDS , included in the project to reduce poverty in the chief towns of regions ” BAD ” PREPUD – funded bank African , ” a series of modular training on different skills recently transferred to local authorities .” ‘

‘ It is the collection and waste management, project management and project management support for development projects and integration of civil society , urban and rural water and finally management and operation of a local authority ” said Mahdi Mohamed Djama .

Thus, the objective pursued through these training modules, ” the official said would strengthen the capacity of men and women who are responsible for daily management of local affairs , but also the planning and implementation of projects development that meets the needs of citizens. “

Finally, note that this level of capacity follows a study trip was organized in Kigali in 2013 by the presidents of regional councils and the city of Djibouti .
