Training on the management of local authorities was completed last Wednesday at the Sheraton. Over a period of ten 10-day training session allowed the audience , made up of local elected officials in the capital and technicians to better understand the challenges inherent in the process of decentralization in the country.

The Djibouti Social Development Agency (ADDS ) closed last Wednesday at the Sheraton training on the management of local authorities. Under the aegis of the Secretary of State for National Solidarity , Zahra Youssouf Kayad , the closing ceremony was attended by the Minister of the Interior, Hassan Omar Mohamed , his colleague of Housing, Urban Development and Environment , Mohamed Moussa Ibrahim Balala , the mayor of the capital, Kayad Abdillahi Hussein , the president of the municipality of Boulaos Said Abdi Elmi , several other local officials and technicians.

The event was the culmination of a ten-day training modules which focused on urban social and financial , administrative , land and public spaces in local communities.

Themes that form the backdrop of decentralization. If the issues of decentralization generally appear with evidence , resolution still arises with delicacy as the facilitator of the workshop, namely the Jacques Cormier consultant Egis – BCEOM cabinet.

In the opinion of the international expert, the training session allowed him to educate the audience on the challenges inherent in the process of decentralization in the country. The increased involvement of people in Djibouti is one of size. For the satisfaction of this prerequisite is conducive to strengthening the foundations of participatory democracy at the national level .

Of equal importance is the optimal use of local potential and the promotion of good governance for greater efficiency and proximity to public services in local communities.

On the final issues, not least of decentralization involve reducing disparities between different regions of the country , creating economic centers outside the capital and the balanced distribution of population in the country .
