Obock – Inauguration of a commercial complex

Secretary of State in charge of Social Affairs, Mouna Osman Aden, visited Thursday 28 October the chief town of Obock region where she inaugurated a commercial complex. And, needless to say, in the presence of the Minister of Women and Family, Moumina Houmed Hassan.

Upon arrival on site, the ministerial delegation was welcomed by the prefect of the region, Dabaleh Hassan Ahmed, chairman of the regional council, Ali Houmed Hassan, MP Ouma Mohamed Hamid, and civil society.

The feeling of joy was best shared by the anonymous crowd gathered outside the new market infrastructure of the city of Obock. Secretary of State in charge of Social Affairs, conducted the traditional ribbon cutting of the ritual. The gesture marked the start of activities of the commercial complex built by the Djibouti Social Development Agency (ADDS) and fully funded by the African Development Bank (ADB).

The commissioning of the facilities responds to the government’s desire to facilitate the inclusion of SMEs in the economic development process underway in each of the regions of the interior. Local SMEs are called to occupy spaces of different shopping malls. These should be elapse of handicrafts, fisheries, and consumer goods to the customer obockoise. Then the ministerial delegation has gone the way of the credit union savings and loan (CPEC) of Obock.

Once on the scene, branded visitors met the members of the board of the microfinance institution headed Ouma Mohamed Hamid MP. The interview is followed by a press conference of the Secretary of State in charge of Social Affairs.

In this media release, Ms. Mouna Osman Aden said that North CPEC is a lever in the fight against poverty at the local level. It welcomed the renewed dynamism of this financial solidarity in view of the substantial amount of its financial assets. She urged obockois managed to take advantage of funding opportunities offered by the credit union savings and credit in the implementation of community or economic development projects.
