Municipal Development Fund of District 7

The headquarters of the Djibouti Social Development Agency (ADDS) hosted yesterday a meeting appointment of a president of a municipal development fund management committee, its PDUI abbreviation. This committee and its president have the daunting task of validating projects from micro-actors in local community life and especially to monitor the proper use of investments already mobilized for neighborhood associations.

The Djiboutian Social Development Agency (ADDS) organized yesterday in his office, a district committee of the nomination meeting 7. The Committee, which has just been set up, will respond to the desire to validate the micro projects proposed by the actors of local associations. It is composed of 11 members representing all the residents of this neighborhood.
The working session was an opportunity to elect a committee chair. The general director of ADDS, Mr. Mahdi Djama, the first deputy mayor, Ali Abdillahi Ali, the deputy prefect of the 2nd district, Abdi Hassan, and a representative of the World Bank, and the members took part the conduct of this meeting. And on the initiative of ADDS that aims to sustain investment and projects already completed.

To do this, the agency has set up management committees composed of officials of the municipality, district leaders and members of various departments. Thus, it ensured full participation and full involvement of local residents in order to increase the 7 decision impact.
Incidentally, the largest district of the municipality of Boulaos, in this case the district 7, will benefit from a small fund to support the FDC activities. Recall that during the meeting, the sub-prefect of the 2nd district, Mr. Abdi Hassan, did not fail to emphasize the importance of this committee that “heavy responsibility to sustain projects and investments that the government is available to residents to improve their well-being. ” He added that the maintenance of the infrastructure already completed is everyone’s business. He regretted that “paved roads deteriorate with the full knowledge of the inhabitants and in total indifference.”

For its part, the first deputy mayor, Mr. Ali Abdullah, reaffirmed the commitment of the municipality in the implementation of projects to fight against poverty and in favor of the population of the districts.

The committee proceeded with the nomination of the president of the Community Development Fund Management Committee. Mr. Abubaker Arreh Moussa was elected as president.
