” No to Drugs ” was the one and only motto returning on the lips of participants of the event organized at the sports ground of Ward 7 . And , remember , regardless of their social status.

The General Council of District 7 in collaboration with the municipality of Boulaos , held last Thursday night at the sports ground in the same area , an evening of awareness on the harmful effects of drug use.

” No to Drugs ” was the one and only motto returning on the lips of participants of the evening. And , remember , regardless of their social status.

Thus , the president of the municipality of Boulaos Said Abdi Elmi, his counterpart Balbala Nouho Yusuf , the Director General of the Djibouti Social Development Agency (ADDS ) , Mahdi Mohamed Djama , the notables of the area, representatives of local women and young people added their voice to deflect under 25 neighborhood sirens juvenile delinquency and its corollary, drug addiction .

On a sober tone, the committee chair of the General Council District 7, Hawa Ahmed Ali, had the merit of pointing fingers destructive behavior of juvenile drug consumers of all kinds.

The most egregious aspects of this reality are , she has said , the marginalization of vulnerable young people , the lack of permanent dialogue between different generations and release of social cohesion.

“Breaking the silence around this problem. And act together against the spread of this scourge. Otherwise , drugs destroy what was more expensive in the world : our children, and through them our future ,” she has hammered with force and conviction . All was said almost.

He then discussed the duty of all individuals and institutional actors of the urban community to unite in the fight tirelessly against drugs as so aptly noted the Director General of ADDS.

The man referred to the example of his agency that offers years of vocational training to unemployed youth of Ward 7 and landscape grounds entertainment to alleviate their poverty.

On an equal vote , the Chairman of the Joint Boulaos appealed to the good sense of the young people who are primarily concerned with the fight against drugs. “We are there to protect you against all threats that may affect your development and well- being,” he started to place juvenile audience Ward 7 .

In conclusion, local elected warmly thanked those who contributed to the success of the evening. He cited the laudable and generous involvement of the Director of Public Debt Department of Budget, Almis Mohamed Abdillahi , and technical advisor to the Ministry of Communication, Mohamed Ismail Ibrahim said ” M2I ” which should generate imitators among the figures emblematic of this popular area of the capital.
