Access of SMEs and SMIs in the Islamic-BOTTOM The Finance and IDB provide expertise

Several speeches were punctuated yesterday at the Sheraton, the opening ceremony of the 4-day workshop on the access of small and medium enterprises or the Islamic finance industry. Stakeholders, in turn, underlined the objective of this conference which aims to strengthen national capabilities in Islamic finance. They thus urged participants to become familiar with the concepts of this ethical finance.

A workshop on access to small and medium enterprises or industries Islamic financing was opened yesterday at the Sheraton. It will continue its work until Thursday 10 December.
Under the aegis of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, responsible for Industry, the event was attended by senior officials of government and parastatal institutions, private operators, and dispatched experts to the country by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB).

These include the Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, responsible for Industry, Nuh Omar Miguil, general manager of the Djibouti Economic Development Fund (FDED), Said Ismail Hassan, the director of the Office of Djibouti industrial and commercial property (ODPIC) Ouloufa Ismaël Abdo, director of the Djibouti Social Development Agency (ADDS), Mahdi Mohamed Djama, the representative of the Islamic Institute of Research and Training (IIRE), Abdelkader Chachi and the international consultant in Islamic Finance, Moncef Bentaibi.

Several speeches were punctuated the opening ceremony of this meeting to four days. Stakeholders, in turn, underlined the objective of the workshop aimed at strengthening national capacities for Islamic finance. They thus urged participants to become familiar with the concepts of this ethical finance. They successively highlighted the need to provide the country with economic and legal environment in full compliance with the requirements of Islamic finance. A pre whose satisfaction would be likely to democratize the access of small and medium enterprises and industries (SMEs / SMIs) the sources of Islamic financing.

The prospect mobilizes, already, the Economic Development Fund of Djibouti and his ministry. The Islamic Development Bank and the Institute for Research and Training also who support the national authorities in the promotion of SMEs and SMIs. A rightly so because they are the engines of sustainable growth, and therefore carriers of job creation.

To this end, they are to benefit from the offers of expertise and FDED IIRE. Not to mention the IDB funding opportunities that are likely to meet the expectations of local entrepreneurs, enthusiasts of Islamic finance products.
