ADDS train facilitators on the fight against maternal and child malnutrition

The conference room UNFD yesterday hosted the closing ceremony of a training workshop on the prevention of maternal and child malnutrition community based. On a two-day workshop, this workshop was organized at the initiative of the Djibouti Social Development Agency (ADDS) under the supervision of the State Secretariat for National Solidarity and in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health.

ADDS closed yesterday in the meeting room UNFD a training workshop lasting two days organized by the agency and under the supervision of the State Secretariat for National Solidarity, in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health.

This program brought together thirty young girls facilitators and counselors mothers, from the outskirts of the city and Balbala Douda who have benefited from this animated by national trainers training.

Participants were able to receive training on the causes of stunting in children during the first year after birth and the consequences of poor nutritional status in women during the pregnancy period.

Control program against child malnutrition and to promote breastfeeding is funded by the Government of Japan and the World Bank. The Djibouti Social Development Agency is the prime contractor.
