Mayor of Djibouti / Embassy of China: Public lighting with solar panels

The town hall in the capital yesterday hosted a ceremony street lighting in certain neighborhoods work , done by the Chinese Embassy and the city of Djibouti .

The mayor of the capital, Hussein Abdillahi Kayad and Chinese Ambassador to Djibouti , Huaqiang Fu , jointly signed yesterday in the town hall acts of surrender and acceptance of the work of street lighting with solar panels .
Besides the aedile of the capital and the Chinese ambassador , the signing ceremony was attended by the president of the municipality of Ras Dika Ismael Osman Farah, the president of the municipality of Balbala Youssouf Nouho , and CEO Djibouti development Agency (ADDS ) , Mahdi Mohamed Djama .
The event marks the particular interest that the municipal authorities and officials of the Chinese diplomatic chancery attach to the success of this joint project .
Thanks to financial support from the Chinese government , several major thoroughfares of the city and some neighborhoods of the city of Balbala benefited from the installation of photovoltaic panels for enhancing the safety of residents .
As a reminder , the city of Djibouti has received during the last year, a donation of 300 solar lamps offered by the Chinese government.
Before signing the contract execution , the mayor of the city of Djibouti , Hussein Abdillahi Kayad , recognized the importance of these solar panel installations for the safety of adjoining residents.
” Recognizing the importance and usefulness of the project for the city of Djibouti and its inhabitants , the municipality has spared no efforts to meet the real need for public lighting ” said the Councillor of the capital, Hussein Abdillahi Kayad who did not fail to emphasize the existing excellent relations between our two countries.
“We will not remain indifferent to this noble and useful gesture” Has he said.
Mayor Hussein Abdillahi Kayad has also highlighted how this project will improve our capital while ensuring the safety of people and property by providing a healthy environment.
“Now it is a moral obligation to ensure the proper maintenance of this new public utility park and urge users to preserve these basic amenities . ”
Speaking in turn, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Fu Huaqiang , expressed his desire to see relations between the two will be further strengthened .
In this context, he referred to the will of the Government of Djibouti to spend 2020 on the use of green energy to 100%. Where the timely service of such lamps that run on solar energy, ” clean and renewable energy .”
Its momentum , Ambassador Fu Huaqiang reviewed major projects implemented by the government in our country.
“You may notice these years that the Sino- Djibouti cooperation has gained fresh momentum with major projects funded by the two countries such as the railway between Djibouti and Addis Ababa , the water supply works , the major ports … I am convinced that in future years, the cooperation between our two countries will further strengthen , “said he concluded his remarks.
The ceremony yesterday at City Hall ended with the official signing of documents delivery and receipt of funded by the Chinese government solar street lighting project.
It is important to emphasize that this project has benefited from the technical expertise of the Djibouti Social Development Agency (ADDS ) .
Starting work back in May 2013. And the site has resulted in October 2013.
Note that visit different sites of 300 photovoltaic installations was held the same evening by the mayor of the capital, the Chinese Ambassador to Djibouti , in the presence of the Secretary of State for National Solidarity Zahra Youssouf Kayad . The two sites selected are the axes of traffic of the city and the so-called Saudi Barwaqo .
