PROPEJA Draw beneficiaries: It is the turn of Arta region

The Djiboutian Social Development Agency (ADDS) continues the draw of beneficiaries of Employment Promotion Project Youth and Handicrafts (PROPEJA).
The inhabitants of the town of Arta received last Wednesday the draw of this program. The ceremony held in the conference room of the regional council seat Arta attended, besides the 96 eligible youth from this locality, the Prefect of Arta Abdillahi Darar Okieh, Deputy Regional Chair M . Elmi Bouh Goudadeh, head of PROPEJA project, Mr. Ide Mohamed Abdillahi and the director of social development ADDS, Mr. Farah Dirieh Souldan.
This project is funded by the Japanese background for Social Development, administered by the World Bank and initiated by ADDS, under the leadership of the State Secretariat for National Solidarity.
96 young artawis attended a draw that will select 12 boys and 12 girls for a first beneficiaries entrepreneurial training cycle.
A second printing was made to select 16 other recipients to be on the waiting list. These will be admitted to this course in case a selected recipient would fail, otherwise they will be given priority to participate in graduate training.
Regarding young unselected for this first cycle, they can retry their chances through the next sweepstakes planned throughout the project. The objective of this project is the creation of jobs for young people. It improves the accessibility of young boys and girls to income generation and employment opportunities and this, through training, coaching and financial support for the implementation of their activities income generation.
This basic training on entrepreneurship is a crucial step in the creation of micro business. Through this project, about 600 young people will be trained in the Arta region in the field of entrepreneurship and promoters about 1200 groups will be eligible for seed funding following the validation of the regional committee.
It is also provided in the second part of the program, the training of 800 women in the field of producing and marketing their handicrafts. These also will receive financial assistance to improve their handicrafts.
Indeed, the project includes training on the design and colors, the allocation of funds for making handicrafts.
The project will also support women with a view to marketing their products on the market.
The two components are intended to provide some solutions to human, social and financial constraints so that young people and women have access to income generation opportunities.
