Good practices reimbursement

It was yesterday Question headquarters UNFD virtues and the positive impact of micro Islamic finance in the fight against poverty. The Djiboutian Social Development Agency (ADDS) held yesterday at the headquarters of the UNFD a sensitization workshop on micro Islamic finance. Under the patronage of the Minister of State for National Solidarity Zahra Youssouf Kayad, the meeting took place as part of the celebration week of national solidarity. The event was attended on site General Secretary UNFD Hawa Djama Idleh, the Director General of the ADDS, Mahdi Mohamed Djama, the president of the municipality of Boulaos, Said Abdi Elmi, and the president of the municipality of Balbala, Yusuf Hassan Nouho. The objective of this workshop is to raise total membership of women around best practices for repayment of micro Islamic finance.
Since its official launch in November 2012 the unit microfinance Balbala raised awareness 1000 people, identified 235 projects funded to date 146 projects including 104 for women. All these products are subsidized in part by the ADDS to retain potential customers of the popular savings and credit union but first go beyond the assistantship and create a need for promoters of micro projects.
The Secretary of State for National Solidarity has reminded us in his speech on this occasion. Ms. Zahra Youssouf Kayad also highlighted the important role of the First Lady and President of the UNFD Mrs. Kadra Mahmoud Haid, in the development of microfinance in Djibouti. She also welcomed the innovations introduced by the popular savings and credit unions (CPEC) to improve the lives of the vulnerable, particularly women.
In this regard, she paid tribute to the sense of initiative of the management of microfinance, which is strengthening the capacities and CPEC provides constant promotion of the sector. “With the computerization of the pilot unit of Islamic micro finance, poor households’ access to financial services is facilitated in Djibouti,” said Zahra Youssouf Kayad.
For his part, Secretary General of the UNFD, highlighted the positive impact of Microfinance, described as “the most developer tool and the least expensive of the fight against poverty.” It is a tool that is particularly effective for the solutions advocated in the fight against poverty.
To hear Hawa Djama Idleh, poverty or extreme precariousness was once considered inevitable in developing countries. This is not the case but the target promoters must understand that they have everything to gain from a serious management in order to fully benefit from microfinance products. A young industry that has an enviable growth potential and now occupies a prominent place in Djiboutian society.
With accents manager, general manager of the ADDS subsequently referred to the primary mission of the pilot plant micro Islamic finance that has the means to know the project proponents.
This pilot plant is trying to see how far they are able to invest in their funding income generating activity or access to other forms of income that will allow them to repay their funding as was so well pointed Mahdi Mohamed Djama.
“Microfinance is listening credits needs of people excluded from the traditional banking system if they are like the others with the entrepreneurial spirit, capacity for judgment, and ensure their repayments. And experience has shown that these people are also able to set up businesses and develop, “he concluded to the applause of the audience met yesterday at the headquarters of UNFD.
