Under the auspices of the Secretary of State for National Solidarity Zahra Youssouf Kayad, the Djibouti Social Development Agency (ADDS) held last Saturday a sensitization workshop on the stone. The meeting was held at the center of social action and women’s empowerment, based in Balbala, as part of the celebration of the week of national solidarity. Indeed, as recalled by the leaders of the ADDS, social safety nets are mechanisms for non-contributory social transfers, targeting vulnerable individuals or households. The initiative aims to support consumption and / or access to basic social services for poor and vulnerable populations. It is regarded as a social integration advantage for working people without qualifications. Households from rural and urban areas are exposed to a variety of shocks that keep accumulating good and human capital that could help them out of poverty. As a large majority of the population, including workers in the informal sector and rural areas, vulnerable social groups are not covered by the formal system of social security. ADDS is currently promoting the establishment of a civil engineering sector through its work (LI) in the execution of projects of general interest.
