ALAILI DADAH (Obock), February 2, 2026 – The Solidarity Caravan officially began its mission on Sunday in the town of Alaili Dadah.
Organized annually by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Solidarity, this national initiative was launched on January 29, 2026, by the President of the Republic, with the aim of strengthening access to basic social services and promoting territorial equity.
Upon her arrival in the sub-prefecture of Alaili Dadah, the Minister of Social Affairs and Solidarity, Ms. Ouloufa Ismaïl Abdo, accompanied by her delegation, was received with honors, notably by an honor guard from the Djiboutian Armed Forces.
The Minister then visited the local health post before inaugurating a water fountain, an extension of the reservoir supplying the village. This infrastructure significantly improves access to drinking water for the local population.
This initial phase will also allow for an assessment of the progress of community empowerment activities, particularly solidarity funds, as well as the commissioning of three social infrastructure projects designed to sustainably improve the living conditions of residents.
Furthermore, a major step forward in opening up access to isolated areas was observed with the commissioning of a new access road, which the population had been awaiting for two years. This infrastructure has reduced travel time from five hours to two and a half hours, facilitating access to social services and public infrastructure.
During this first day, the Minister met with residents of Alaili Dadah, Andoli, and Dadato, speaking directly with them to listen to their concerns and gather their grievances.
