The Djiboutian Agency for Social Development (ADDS), in partnership with the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFOP), officially launched vocational training courses yesterday as part of the Integrated Urban Development Project II (PDUI 2), financed by the French Development Agency (AFD).
The ceremony was held at the Balbala Sectoral Center for Vocational Training in Construction Trades (CSFOP-BTP), in the presence of a wide range of personalities, including the Director General of Vocational Training of MENFOP, the Director General of ADDS, the Director of AFD, the President of the municipality of Balbala as well as several actors and professionals from the construction sector in Djibouti.
Two specializations at the BAC+1 level have been officially launched:
* Building site supervisor;
* Surveyor – Topographer.
These courses are spread over a period of nine (09) months, including six (06) months of training within the center and three (03) months of practical internship in a company in order to allow learners to acquire concrete professional experience.
Each specialty accommodates 25 young people, for a total of 50 beneficiaries, rigorously selected through entrance tests.
During the ceremony, the trainees had the opportunity to demonstrate their technical skills and attest to the quality of the training they received. This initiative addresses a real need expressed by professionals in the construction industry, who are facing a growing demand for skilled labor in these strategic sectors.
Through this program, ADDS and its partners reaffirm their commitment to the professional integration of young people and the strengthening of technical skills in service of the urban and economic development of the country.
