ADDS / UNFD / BM: Graduation Ceremony of culinary training for 18 girls

The meeting room of the National Union of Djiboutian Women yesterday hosted a ceremony of certificates to twenty young girls trained in the kitchen. This project is part of the program to reduce urban poverty Ward 7 or PREPUD Q7 .

Yesterday , 18 girls received their certificates of completion of training in the kitchen at a ceremony held at the headquarters of the National Union of Djiboutian Women . Funded by the World Bank, the program implemented by the Djibouti district 7 social development agency , to enable young people to acquire the skills necessary to practice a trade or activity aims to professional , but also to fight against unemployment.

The ceremony was attended by the Secretary General of the UNFD Hawa Djama Idleh , the President of the Commune, Said Abdi Elmi , director general of the Adds Mahdi Mohamed , the director of the social development of the Djibouti agency for Social Development , Dirieh Farah Sultan and the sub-prefect of the second district , Abdi Hassan .

In a brief speech on the occasion, the Secretary General of the UNFD Hawa Djama Idleh , recognized the importance of helping young people through training in areas such as cooking, sewing, etc. . ” It is our duty to ensure that these girls a social and professional future,” she said.

Indeed, the training kitchen allows girls to apply on the job market and be recruited in hotel environments , equipped with their certificates of completion of training .

The chairman of the Joint Boulaos for his part reminded the many programs implemented by the ADDS in Ward 7 in the fight against unemployment and insecurity , but also to contribute to the improvement of living conditions of its inhabitants .

” ADDS improved infrastructure including roads, the community development center , etc. . These interventions have helped to improve the quality of life of women and children, ” he concluded .

Thereafter, the Director of Social Development ADDS Dirieh Farah, for his part, said that 82 girls from Ward 7 had received during the school year 2012/2013 training courses on the agents safety, cooking, sewing , bilingual receptionist and automotive electricity.

” Now you need perseverance , enhance your skills and demonstrate that you are able to build your future,” he told the place of young recipients .
