Delivery of driving licenses to 25 young people from the Dikhil region

On February 23, the Dikhil region hosted a driving license ceremony for 25 young people in the region, following a training course funded by ADDS (Djiboutian Agency for Social Development).

The ceremony saw the participation of the director of social development of ADDS, Mr. Dirieh Farah Souldan, accompanied by a strong delegation from his institution, but also the local authorities including the prefect of Dikhil Mr. Aden Darar Moussa, the president of the Regional Council of Dikhil Mr. Abdourahman Yonis Arreh, the Vice-President of the Regional Council Mr. Ebo Med Ebo the Deputy Prefect of AS-EYLA, Mr. Moussa Ougoureh, the Secretary General of the Regional Council Mr. Abdallah Mohamed Hassan as well as local elected officials, and representatives of the various structures of Okarois civil society.

On this occasion, the Director of Social Development of ADDS underlined the importance of this training which, he told 25 young people from the village of As-Eyla but also from localities located on the Djibouti international corridor, to benefit from a driving license.

He explained that this program, although it is in line with the national policy of employability of young people from the regions, was born thanks to the initiative taken by the association of young people from As- Eyla who submitted this training project to ADDS. He also recalled that other projects registered in the socio-economic fields are being implemented in the region, citing among them the initiative to promote youth employment through the FORJE project, the project integrated monetary transfer and community works or the support project for the creation of economic social infrastructure in the interior regions. For his part, the president of the regional council expressed his joy to attend this ceremony of the notable project promoted by the association of young people of As-Eyla by addressing his thanks to the ADDS which, he added. , set up the community development fund aimed at financing the best associative projects in the interior regions. On the sidelines of this driving license ceremony, the ADDS delegation spoke with community stakeholders in the region on the status of various projects funded by ADDS in the Dikhil region.
