Identification and census of associations

From formal promises to concrete commitments.

The identification and the census of associations are the reasons for the information and awareness-raising tour that the Ministry of Women and Family has started in the interior regions. And this, it should be added, with the technical support of the Djiboutian Agency for Social Development (ADDS).

A mixed team of the MFF and the ADDS went last Thursday to the capital of the Arta region. The visitors got in touch with the actors of the local associative fabric. The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Arta Regional Council. It allowed MFF and ADDS sensitizers to show the reasons for their arrival on the heights of the city of Arta. They then evoked the very essence of the existence of associative structures. Which are supposed to constitute effective relays in the help given to the most vulnerable people under the skies of Djiboutian.

The recall gives a boost to the project of identification and identification of the associative tissues that the Ministry of Women and Family launched in October 2017 with the support of the Djiboutian Agency for Social Development. It is for the MFF and the ADDS to revitalize associations and fill the gaps of those who need them. A dual objective, the attainment of which presupposes the registration of associative structures with the focal points of the MFF and the ADDS.

This is at least the opinion of the President of the Regional Council of Arta. He urged his auditors to register their associations with persons mandated by the public authorities.

One of the ADDS senior staff was more explicit about this. “It is useful to reference the various existing associations and professional groups, list their activities and areas of intervention and finally make an inventory of needs,” he said in substance.

Representatives of the associative fabric of Arta took good note. They promised to register their associations as soon as possible. It is up to them to honor the commitment they made to their interlocutors. The success of the identification and census of associations project depends on it at the local level.

Eventually, the MFF and ADDS plans to develop an electronic agenda to know precisely the role and mission of each of the associative entities active throughout the national territory.
