Obock : ADDS support local development

The Director General of the ADDS Mahdi Mohamed Djama , made yesterday, Tuesday , a field visit to Obock where he first attended a training workshop in community life, funded by the African Development Bank. He then kicked sending the computerization of CPEC Obock and finally handed over the keys of a new meat market to the President of the Regional Council Obock , Houmed Ali Hassan . These three projects are likely to strengthen the capacity of local actors in the socio -economic development of the region . The Regional Chair warmly thanked ADDS for its efforts to promote local development. He called obockois beneficiaries to make good use of the tools at their disposal.

Under the supervision of the Djibouti Social Development Agency , the association Action Plus has organized a training workshop for Obock associations. Funded by the African Development Bank , the training is designed to enable the associations Obock to contribute more effectively to local development. The Director General of the ADDS has therefore moved in person yesterday Obock where he was able to speak with the president of the regional council , Ali Hassan Houmed , the scope of this training.

Indeed, as part of its program to reduce urban poverty in the five regions of the country, ADDS has launched a comprehensive program whose objective is to identify and to upgrade the associative structures regions by allowing them to acquire the appropriate structural and institutional capacity to design and manage development projects that meet the needs and priorities of the people of their region.

For its implementation , ADDS has recruited senior NGOs in each region in order to strengthen the capacity of civil society in these regions.

The mission of the NGO selected by ACTION PLUS ADDS for Obock Region is to identify , organize, train and support associations to enable them to use the funds available for local development.

This will improve the internal governance of organizations obockoise civil society for greater participation in the development of their region and their country .

Association leaders will learn the basics to better manage their organization in the following areas : the management tools of an association, civic education and communication , financial management of the Association, design, develop , implement and evaluate a local development project , Research funding and partnership development , Development of a plan for development of the organization.

Then the CEO ADDS participated in the official launch of the computerization of the fund OBOCK .

The CPEC Obock therefore now has a computerized financial system installed by the international firm ” GHA Technologies ,” a SAF for recording the operations of deposit, credit , etc. . Apart from financial operations , this new software will also ensure the reliability of financial data.

It must be said before, these operations are done manually and required several hours. But thanks to the computerization of the box , customers can now track the progress of their accounts directly .

The second step in this process is to interconnect different CPEC them .

Indeed, after the computerization of various funds , it will be for teams of international consultants to carry out a transfer of skills to enable all customers receive better service in all credit unions and savings credit of the country. “With the old manual system , we were not immune to the risk of fraud but now all movements will be monitored and operations will be more reliable,” said the director of the ADDS Mahdi Mohamed .

Finally, the Director General of the ADDS officially handed over the keys of the new meat market in the city of Obock the president of the region.
