Fight against maternal and child malnutrition: A preventive approach

Training on maternal and child malnutrition opened yesterday at the headquarters of UNFD . Lasting two days, this workshop targets about 25 community health workers , from medical facilities in the capital and regions of the interior.

The Djibouti Social Development Agency (ADDS ) opened yesterday at the headquarters of UNFD the work of a training workshop on the prevention of maternal and child malnutrition.

As a partner of choice with the Ministry of Health supports the initiative . Lasting two days, the training session is intended for community health workers .

Participants are 25 in number . They come from medical facilities in the capital and regions of the interior.

They closely followed the screening of a video on maternal and child malnutrition. They were able to soak through it causes stunting of the child during the first year after birth , the consequences of poor nutritional status in women during the month of pregnancy.

This shows the interest of this training is based on a preventive approach in the fight against maternal and child malnutrition. The project in question is funded by the World Bank.
