The Djiboutian Social Development Agency (ADDS) organized a fund-raising ceremony for unemployed young boys and girls, last Wednesday at the headquarters of the regional council of Ali-Sabieh. Regional officials, the Deputy Director and the ADDS Project Manager, and the CPEC Manager took part in the event.

Previously, these twenty-four unemployed graduates were trained over a period of four months and received technical assistance in setting up their business plan.

Fourteen of them were assiduous and motivated. They presented projects. Seven of these projects were considered financially reliable and were selected for this first phase of funding under the Youth Employment and Skills Promotion Program (PROPEJA) ADDS. The said program is financed by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), which is administered by the World Bank.

The seven young promoters of business projects received a check of 400,000 FD respectively during the meeting last Wednesday at the headquarters of the Regional Council of Ali-Sabieh.

Local officials urged recipients to demonstrate accountability and rigor in carrying out their business plans.

The ADDS representative, Ide Mohamed Abdillahi, assured the young beneficiaries of the technical support of the ADDS who will accompany them in their process throughout the implementation of their business projects. Of the financial support, the CPEC is at your disposal, “he insisted.

As for the young beneficiaries of the funds, they were pleased with the opportunity that the ADDS has offered them through the financing of projects that are close to their heart.

Lucrative entrepreneurial activities that will enable them to get out of precariousness. We will be rigorous in carrying out our business to increase their viability and improve their performance, “they announced in chorus.
