At the end of a long journey, the National Solidarity Week ended last Monday, in the Dikhil region and more precisely in the Mouloud locality. Located on a main road, and with agro-pastoral and other potential, Mouloud was in the spotlight.

Thus departing for a day from its usual calm, the town of Mouloud was in turmoil.

Placed under the sign of solidarity and social development, the closing ceremony of the National Week was held in a festive atmosphere.
This week is an opportunity for the Ministry of Solidarity and Social Affairs to take stock of the achievements, and thus promote this bond of solidarity that unites us.

It was also an opportunity for the inhabitants of this locality, thanks to the many achievements devoted to its development and to the improvement of the living environment of the latter, to see first-hand the beneficial contribution which was now palpable.

The highlight of the day was the inauguration of the Central Market, known as Assoweh.

Funded by the Turkish Agency for International Cooperation and executed by the Djiboutian Agency for Social Development, the inauguration of this market will undoubtedly change the game of commerce in this locality.

In addition to this market launch project, several other projects intended to improve the living environment of the inhabitants have been put forward by the Djiboutian Social Development Agency, which undoubtedly remains a real player in the fight against precariousness. in our country.

Rich in events, the ceremony took place in the presence of the Minister of Solidarity and Social Affairs Mouna Osman Aden, the Secretary of State in charge of Decentralization Hamadou Mohamed Aramis, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Djibouti Raise Salim SAHINKAYA, from the prefect of Dikhil Mr. Aden Darar Moussa and the president of the regional council Mr. Abdourahman Yonis Arreh and parliamentarians from the Dikhil region.

Also attending the ceremony were the Director General of ADDS Mahdi Mohamed Djama, the Coordinator of the Turkish Agency for Cooperation, the Director of the Center for Leadership and Entrepreneurship.

The Assoweh Market: A building beneficial to the trade of Mouloud. Built in just ninety days, this work is fully funded by the Turkish agency TIKA with technical support from the Djiboutian Agency for Social Development (ADDS). The construction of this new building was at the center of the attention of residents. Long awaited, this new building intends to give the merchant of this locality, a place conducive to their trade. Covering an area of 270 m2, this brand new structure will accommodate around ten butchery artisans and around thirty small fruit and vegetable vendors and other small businesses such as clothing and spices.

On this, it will contribute to the socio-economic development of this locality known for its potential in agriculture and breeding.

And perfectly illustrates the government’s commitment and tangible desire to promote the emergence of an inclusive ecosystem.

All the more so since this building tends to promote the increase in income-generating activities for the benefit of vulnerable populations.

Achievements in all directions: act locally for global development. A real lever in the fight against poverty, the ADDS has not failed to respond as well as possible to the missions assigned to it. As proof during this closing ceremony, the ADDS presented multiple achievements, affecting the improvement of the hygiene condition of the population and livestock, in particular with the Community development fund project. financed by the African Development Bank (AfDB), it was a question of focusing on improving hygiene conditions with the construction of public latrines, twenty-four in all. As well as the renovation of a water tank and two drinkers.

No need to demonstrate the usefulness of the equipment for the rural population and the breeding of this small town.

The other project and not the least, from which Mouloud has benefited, is the Forje project with the presentation of certificates of Attestation of completion of training in Entrepreneurship. A project intended to improve the accessibility of creation and employment opportunities.

About thirty young natives of this village were able to complete the first cycle of training in entrepreneurship. The officials thus handed over the certificates confirming the completion of the first cycle of this project.
Remember that during this closing ceremony of the National Solidarity Week, several personalities took turns at the microphone to highlight the unfailing utility and efficient contribution that these achievements constitute for the socio-economic development of Mouloud. Thus the Minister of Social Affairs and Solidarity highlighted the primacy of highlighting solidarity if we want to successfully complete a given project, and moreover of public utility. “Is it yet another proof that development is everyone’s business and that solidarity is an indispensable tool? Mouloud has shown that there is a favorable wind for those who know where they want to go “. It is through these blunt words and full of praise for the inhabitants of Mouloud who were able to roll up their sleeves to participate in the work.

Continuing her word, the Minister did not fail to thank Turkey for the financing of the Market, while giving clarifications on the various projects carried out, while also specifying the amount for each project in this village. “Mouloud’s achievements are multiple and integrated and this is the Government’s development vision. To act locally for global development” declared Mouna Osman Aden at the end of his speech.

The Secretary of State in charge of Decentralization Hamadou Mohamed Aramis for his part highlighted that “unity in social action constitutes the fundamental base on which synergy must be built around empowered and supported communities to take charge of their own development destiny ”.
