Inserting young people fully into the labor market is one of the major priorities of the government’s roadmap, which, through the different departments responsible for youth issues, is pursuing a policy of this kind. It is with this in mind that the Djiboutian Social Development Agency (ADDS) held last Thursday at the Community Development Center in Quartier 7 a driver’s license giving ceremony to fifteen young people from this neighborhood. This handover is part of the capacity building program for the Quartier 7 associations. This ceremony also coincided with the completion of 21 projects funded through the Community Development Fund. This FDC supports the activities carried out by the associations in District 7. The purpose of these activities is to improve the impact and sustainability of the investment program financed under the second project PREPUD 2 Q.7.
The event was attended by Mohamed Ismaël Omar, President of the Boulaos Commune, ADDS Director General Mahdi Mohamed Djama, Acting Director of Social Development ADDS, Director of the Ministry of Defense. Q.7 CDC, Koresha Ali Guedi, leaders and volunteers of beneficiary associations.
The president of the commune of Boulaos thanked ADDS for its tireless effort to improve the living environment of the population. He has not failed to affirm his unwavering support and his determination to work hand in hand with the ADDS. The opportunity also for the director of the ADDS to thank in turn the strategic partners who stand alongside the ADDS in the execution of its activities. It is the State Secretariat for Youth and Sports and the municipality of Boulaos who spare no effort for the perfect collaboration and for the smooth running of the mission to fight against poverty and social exclusion. At the end of the speeches, the 15 enthusiastic young people pocketed their driving license.
